TXU Energy Complaint - Customer (dis)service - Electric Service - poor customer service

Electric Service - poor customer service - Complaint
Review by NicLaw on 2007-12-06
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- I have spent nearly six hours trying to get service resored. First, they could not tell me why service was out (on December 3, 2007) but put in an order to restore - priority. An order to restore finally went in on the 4th but they messed it up again and the order was canceled - but no one bothered to follow up - thus - no service. I only found out when I called this afternoon when services had not been restored as promised only to get the run around, put on hold for hours, hung up on repeatedly... I spoke with no less then ten people today, three supposedly supervisors and none could give me a straight answer and none would ensure my services were resored today (despite their screwed up prior order being overlooked) and I am just supposed to trust them and wait another 24 hours or more for the new service order to be processed. "There is nothing else they can do" I have used their service for years, but "service" has really declined this last year or so.

I am so amazed at how little the "customer service advocates" and the "supervisors" knew about their own system, policy and procedure. I got a different answer from each one and no result so far (over 4 days) whatsoever.

I am absolutely UNHAPPY with TXU. Billing process is a complete "ba$tardization" of the system. Customer Service is the 3rd world, rude and worthless. Here goes my story; I go out of country for a month, cut off all the electricity at home and guess what? my bill is even higher during the month I was gone(I am sure there was no reading taken, they just averaged out my bill). Then I talk to customer service and she says since I dont have the money to pay my bill, I am making up the stories. I was like "what in the F%^&*@# world makes you think like that, you scum of the earth!". Of course, she DID NOT help! I was so pissed off by her comments BUT still I did not pass my thoughts on to her and paid my bill. IMO, she could think like that because she was probably being paid 50cents an hour by the company. I am seriously considering changing my electricity provider. Because, in spite of paying more money to the company, if I still do not get the respect I deserve then I dont give a F#$%!!! My question to TXU is "Are these things going to get better, by any chance?"

TXU Customers BEWARE.

I opened and account with TXU the summer of 2003. They did not send me a bill for 6 months. I contacted them over and over about sending me a bill, or at least letting me know how much I owed them so I could make a payment. All I got from them is that they were new to the Houston area and were having billing problems. I decided during this time that TXU was not very organize and changed my electricity provider. Once I closed my account I finally received a bill and paid it off. 5 years later they send me a letter via a collection agency saying I owe them $462, so instead of hiring an expensive lawyer or ruining my credit, I paid.

Future customers beware --- they will screw you too.

Currently we have TXU Energy and are trying to get them to disconnect our service because we no longer live in the house. They refuse to disconnect power! What's worse someone else is now using the house and the power and TXU is making us pay for it!!! These people are crooks. They place you on hold for literally hours, have difficulty understanding English, and often disconnect you. This company should be shut down. They are crooks.
