Chase Manhattan Bank Complaint - Scam Company
Chase has been doing illegal things for many years. I never took credit out with Chase, but had a credit card that was sold to Chase. (This was 6 years ago) When Chase took over my balance, they labeled it as a cash advance. The low interest rate jumped over night. My limit was also lower than my original company, so I ended up over my limit without making any transactions. I got slammed with not only the high interest rate, but also over the limit fees. When I called and complained they treated me like I was a criminal. Very rude. Finally told me to make a double payment and should bring my account back down. I paid double payments for 3 months and never saw any results. Make a long story short, I got angry and told them I refuse to pay until they straighten it out. After I quit paying they called my work repeatedly and even found my relatives in another state and hounded them. I have tried many times to resolve this card by paying them in full, but they would never give me anything in writing. They have sold my card numerous times and my 2000.00 balance shows over 10,000.00 now. Of course, they got their write-off money from the government 6 years ago, and I'm sure many transferees have gotten plenty too.
Chase is a scam company and even when you don't take an account from them, be careful that your current lender does not sell your account to them.
