Chefmate Complaint - Poor quality - 4 slice toaster

Review by The nana on 2007-12-11
SPRING HILL, FLORIDA -- I purchased a Chefmate, White, 4 slice toaster, at Target, last year. Unfortunately, I did not save the receipt. The toaster does not let me put the bread in the down position to toast, on one side, one side is still operational. I don't see how this can be fixed, and since it only was $14.99, I think I still should receive more than 8 months of service. I'm finding that in today's world everything is made so much more cheaply than years ago.

I expected it to last at least a few years. Do I have any recourse? Since I'm retired, I don't like re-purchasing the same items more than once in a year.

No recourse even if you had a receipt. Buy another brand.

You get what you pay for and at $14.99 be happy with 8 months of service.

For that price it's junk. If you plan on sticking around very long, you have to invest in decent kitchen electrics and appliances.

Have you tried contacting Chefmate directly to see if they will replace it? You're probably out of luck since you don't have the receipt but it's worth a try. I agree, even at $14.99 a toaster should last longer than a year. I have a Toastmaster toaster that I bought several years ago for about $20 and it works perfectly to this day.

Same story in my case, not even 3/4 months one side went down leaving other side working. Target will not honor unless I have a receipt/box which I don't have. I will just sleep on it now.
