AIPCS Systems Technologies, Inc. Complaint - Consumers Beware - Home computer, bad credit financing

Review by Anonymous on 2003-08-24
FARMINGDALE, NEW YORK -- http://www.aipcs.com/fin.cfm?promo=14 I found this link in a search for bad credit computer financing. Within 7 days I was approved and directed to send in a downpayment of 141.00 which I done so promptly. I configured my computer as I wanted it and the lady I spoke to said it should be done in 10 days. I discovered later that she meant it should be done "waiting in line" in ten days, which she failed to elaborate on. That was okay though. I called and was told it would take about another 10 days. One month and two weeks later....I get the run around. "There is no one in at this time, call back at 6." "Oh, they are in a meeting, call back at 7." "Oh, they already went home, I'm just a receptionist." Whatever! I immediately realized I was scammed. After calling and requesting the name of the CEO the receptionist transferred me to my sales rep; Lambros. This is the guy who had already went home! He must live next door...NOT. He informed me that they were a private company and did not have to divulge that information. He then informed me that I needed to send a larger downpayment because my credit changed on June 3. My contract says this will happen if the credit chages between the time of order and the time of shipment. My order was placed on JULY 10 and my credit has not changed since. Sound like a scam? Absolutely! This company had great advertisements, now I realize it is all the money they steal that pays for the ads so they can steal more money! If you have already ordered from this company...I am so sorry. Currently there is a web site under construction; www.victimsofaipcs@50megs.com, check back frequently. Here you will find helpful links to file complaints, learn ways to fight back against scam artists, and links to the attorney general. If you have ordered, and are still waiting, you're probably getting the same thing I did. Use e-mail only (which is never answered) and call back next week. As far as I can tell there are between 3 and 4 people running this little side show. If I have my way about it, the show won't last much longer! How's that for determintation? All I asked for was for them to uphold the contract or refund my down payment. "we can't do that" is all I ever get. Good luck everyone!

Do you have the names of AIPCS lawyers? Or was that part of hiding the ball?

We have been dealing with AIPCS since June of '03. Our son, who is a HS senior, decided he wanted to buy his own computer. He cashed in his savings bonds for the down payment and is still waiting. We have also been in cintact with Lambros Ballas. Is he the ONLY AIPCS employee. We were finally given a fax number to send our refund request. Curiously, the number they gave us is a Oregon #, while the business is conducted in NY. We have contacted the NY atty general with our complaints and encourage all of you to do the same. I would like to know how/if anyone has received a refund.

Have any of you heard of the troubleshooter, Tom Martino. He has a nationally broadcast radio program. He is a consumer advocate. He will bring national attention to AIPCS and Labros if we can get him to hear us. I submitted my complaint to him, but if we can all bring our complaints to him, we will create a louder voice; not only for him to hear but for other consumers to hear.

Go to his website and sumbit your story. He can and will help if he hears our call. Go to his website and submit your complaint. Here is the link. http://www.troubleshooter.com/
