Lopez Club Lambs Complaint - Black exhaust pipe
ISLETON, CALIFORNIA -- I purchased a 2008 F350 Super Duty in July 2007. Within 500 miles it blew two injectors (2&8). At this point I owned it 12 days, they had it 6 of them. It took 5 days to diagnose the problem. I now have 8,000 miles on it and the tail pipe is as black as the ace of spades. Everyone who owns a 6.4 says something is wrong with my engine. I took it in to the dealer and they said it was because when I blew the injectors, it deposited a lot of raw fuel in the exhaust. I'm not a technician but I would think that almost 7,500 miles later, the raw fuel should be gone. I did some research, and all of the trucks built between January and May 2007 should have had injectors 1,5,7 replaced before the truck was even sold. I know there shouldn't be that much soot out the exhaust. I can also smell raw fuel being expelled out the exhaust. I love the truck but there is a problem that they are not owning up to.
How do I find out if they replace 1,5,7 injectors? I guess I'm just venting, but when you pay over 50K for a truck, you don't expect problems.
