MEDCO Mail Pharmacy Complaint - Poor Service from MEDCO Pharmacy
What MEDCO can do is amazing to me. My local pharmacy would never accept a prescription from a doctor, fill it and then charge my credit card for the prescription without my consent, but MEDCO claims it can do just that and I can do nothing about it. Tonight I received a box of medications that I did not order and a bill stating my credit card had been charged $100. I called MEDCO and "the supervisor" I spoke to stated MEDCO had received a prescription from my doctor and it is their policy to automatically fill it and bill me, and of course she stressed how I had to pay regardless of whether I wanted the medications or not.
I was so shocked. I work in the health care field and have worked with pharmaceutical companies, private insurers, pharmacies and medicare/medicaid; I feel I know a little about how this business works. Medicaid in California treats it's patients better than any other system in my experience. I'll wait and see what "the grievance" the MEDCO supervisor supposedly filed for me does- maybe a couple days- before I consider contacting the Postal Inspector about Mail Fraud, my credit card company about unauthorized charges , my congressman, state representative and the Pharmacy Board in my state, and whoever else I think might need to hear about this. I would urge everyone else who's had a terrible experience with this company to do the same. It's shameful that any company can get away with this type of treatment of it's clients.
One additional thing I noticed- there seems to be a lot of complaints about this company around 2004 and now again- kind of makes me wonder ....did Merck stock just tank or what?
