Caviness Auto Carriers Complaint - Horrendous Service - Vehicle shipper

SULFUR SPRINGS, TEXAS -- The company known as Caviness Auto Carriers gave me a date of when my vehicle was going to be shipped. The date it was first available to be picked up was December 15, 2007. I made these arrangements on the 4th of December when they charged me $130.00 dollars. The total amount for the service was to be $800.00 dollars. They gave me a quote number and that number is 23560-PN. The problems started on the 12th of December when I wrote them an email asking which day the vehicle was going to be shipped. I never heard back from them. On the 17th I called the company trying to find out any information about when the vehicle was going to be shipped. I left many messages and I never heard back from them. I disputed the issue with my credit card company and I let Caviness know that I would be doing business elsewhere. That is when they finally responded to me on 18th of December saying that they were going to credit me $80.00 dollars. The only type of response this company will give anyone is through the Internet.

Also the only time that they were gracious enough to respond back was when I told them that there service was no longer needed and that I was expecting a refund. They sent me an email within five minutes.

That they sent an email doesn't necessarily mean a refund will be done. Why are they only providing a credit of $80 when you paid $130 already?

We were doing our job to locate a hauler for your car. We go by federal laws and guide lines. You canceled your contract with us before we located a hauler. And you agreed to the terms and conditions and #2 and #10 pertains to this complant. And your credit card company agreed that we were doing our job. Thank You ! Caviness Auto Carriers

I agree with jktshff1 and Lidman...Your company took someone's money, provided no service, and is now bragging about it. That says a lot about your company's ethics or lack thereof.

Everyone needs to under stand everyone is told how this business works up front and there is a contract. we work on our customers orders till we locate a carrier for there cars. And the people can not work for free and I don't think anyone would. Would you ! When it comes to any kind of transporation you never know from one day to the next who that day is going to bring. And this man was given a refund of 80.00 dollors.And he agreed at that time on that amount because he knew the rest was spent on the posting fees that have to be paid when put on the boards. We were with in the Laws.
