Sharper Image Complaint - Promises Delivery And Does Not Deliver
My wife ordered a TomTom GPS unit that was on sale at Sharper Image back in early November. The unit was shown as in-stock at the time of purchase.
Weeks went by and no GPS unit arrived. Finally my wife calls their customer service line. She is told they had some issues with collecting her money from Paypal (that is how she paid), but everything was fixed now and the unit would be shipped shortly.
Another week goes by and no GPS. My wife decides to check the website to see the status of her order. It now shows that they are out of stock. My wife again calls the customer service. They explain that the product is out of stock for any new customer requests, but that her order is fine, and that they have one for her. They even went as far to tell her they upgraded her to overnight shipping and it would be arriving in the next two days. My wife even gave them her credit card number to charge in the event they had any additional problems with Paypal.
This was last week. We have yet to see the GPS unit. My wife asked them on numerous calls if they were not going to be able to make it by Christmas, so she would know if she should cancel the order and just go buy it somewhere else. They kept assuring her it would arrive.
Now today is the Saturday before Christmas, and no TomTom GPS. We are printing out a picture of it to give to her parents. Who knows if it will ever arrive, but today we are swapping presents with her family, so it did not arrive on time after ordering it nearly 8 weeks in advance.
My advice when dealing with Sharper Image customer service, take what they say and promise with a grain of salt. They do not seem to have a clue what is going on with their products in transit.
