AT&T Long Distance USA Informative - AT & T Dropping Calls due to High Volume
ENFIELD, CONNECTICUT -- Calls to AT & T services 1-800 number today 12/26/07 in Connecticut are being dropped due to High Call Volumes. The voice recognition units (VRUs) routing calls to the Customer Support Centers are dropping the calls as the waiting queues exceed the maximum limits.
Now, we are talking the PHONE COMPANY whose BUSINESS it is to ROUTE, PLACE and TRAMSMIT calls. One would presume that they would have RESOURCES including technological, physical and equipment to appropriately adjust their services to compensate for HIGH CALL VOLUMES as this IS THEIR BUSINESS. When speaking with a Telephone Operator Supervisor, I was advised to call LATER IN THE DAY or TOMORROW in hopes of getting through to their CUSTOMER service department when call volumes hopefully decline.
