Wireless Unlocking Complaint - Scammed By Wireless Unlocking

Review by Joe in MD on 2007-12-27
With my service provider going out of business, I needed an unlock code for my cell phone. I found Wireless Unlocking on the web, and paid them $10, through PayPal, to unlock my phone. That was on 12/11/07.

They promptly emailed me back, saying "We cannot locate an unlock that matches these payment details." I wrote with more info.

Then I checked the Internet and noticed several complaints against them. I sent them an email saying that if they did not provide the advertised service in timely fashion, I would file against them as well.

They wrote back, saying they would refund the money and cease the transaction. Its been over two weeks, with no refund.

You should be able to contact your wireless provider and ask for the unlock code, free of charge. Or, depending on which handset you are using, your manual may have step by step directions on how you can unlock your phone yourself.

What an ill-informed comment. My service provider was CoolPrepaid. They were as hard to contact as Wireless Unlocking, and quit providing customer service a month before going out of business. And, without getting into the details, I got a slick runaround from Motorola and AT&T, when I went to them for the unlock code.

After I let Wireless Unlocking know I had filed reports on them on Ripoff Report and my3cents, they refunded the money.
