SBC Communications Inc Complaint - SBC COMMITTING FRAUD
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA -- Well ,where do I begin? I had service with SBC (even when it was Ameritech-which was equally as pathetic)forseveral years.I had my phone shut off due to being tired of the constant "drama" the people at SBC loved to create-and the hassel they loved to bring to me-overcharging,turning off phone (even though bills were paid early!),etc. We decided to just use cell service.I got a bill from SBC for several hundred dollars-saying it was past due ,while in same week got a cal from 3 different collection agencies working with SBC to collect the money (3 for same issue??? sounds fishy)-they all said that they were the only ones to have my account.SBC stated that they sold it to collection and gave me only one name.Anyways- it turned out that the bill was for an individual who has my same name. The catch- they live in millionaires lane (I don't) ,they had wrong phone number on bills and wrong SSN! Collection agencies said they could not and would not pursue any collections due to all the crazy wrong snags called "pertinent information".SBC threatened to sue me for the money even though about 7 different people including the head of billing in Chicago office "discovered" that I was correct-but needed more info to prove it to her superiors (needed my ssn,dl and address)-not thinking about the travesty it would become- they used that information against me and changed all info on the "wrong" account to my info- and resubmitted it to collection-I discovered something though- from an FBI friend and the local news , SBC keeps old info and new information on file for their record keeping. They didn't think I would be wise enough to do my own research. It shows they attempted fraud with me on my account-and tried to use newer info to sue me for money. The notes all show that there was wrong information and that it was changed by their head of billing without my knowing or permission-and they pretty much dropped everything and admitted error when my FBI friend called them as if he was investigating their business practices.HA HA HA !!! Still- they deny any wrong doing when I filed my 4 report with BBB ,and the Utility Commission and stated I was a troublesome customer. This is just scratching the service of my problems- I have about 3 bags of paperwork names, dates, times ,and all scanned onto cd's for any snakes that want to bite me!I was on phone with them about 2-3 times a week on average for almost 3 years-LITERALLY!!!!! It took 3 phone calls from FBI , and 5 phone calls from our local CBS affiliate to get them to listen! I offer this advcie-watch your bills closely-watch your personal info closely, and be PERSISTENT_ they play the hardest ball I could ever imagine(this is on FBI record that they are masters of hardball)and don't give up- they expect the common man to just drop it under pressure and stress to get SBC out of their hair! DONT!!! This will only make them win their fraud oriented battle!I am not the only one I know personally that has been put through phone hell becuase of them.Hang in there-play it hard-don't give up- keep good notes-and KEEP THEM- get names-dates,and times- every little info and note any contradictions-or they will grind you down!It is a pain- this little guy here-mister quiet-and patient-mister nice and kind-became mister ass with them-my hidden colours of Mr Hyde came out more then once-my wife had to bear with me and listen to me complain-but I was not about to hand over $600+ dollars to a rich extortionist!FIGHT HARD!!!
