Circuit City Complaint - Misleading - TomTom
CLEARLAKE, TEXAS -- I visited Circuit City to purchase 3 TomTom GPS systems for Christmas at the end of November. I specifically asked the management of the store if, between the time of purchase and Christmas the price goes down, can I get a refund for the difference. They had told me that because they were Christmas gifts If the item was to go on sale they would refund the differences. I purchased the TomTom for $299. each. The day after Christmas they went on sale for $249. I returned to the store that I purchased the items from and they had stated that because the units were purchased over 30 days prior to my return there was nothing that they could do.
I then contacted corporate Circuit City and was informed of the same thing. I understand that there are rules and regulations. However, I do not enjoy being lied to in order to gain a sale. If I was informed of the policy. I, more then likely would have still purchased the items from Circuit City, However I would have waited a week before doing so. The bottom line is Because of this mis-information it had cost me $150. Well, I can assure you that Best Buy will except my money just as fast as Circuit City will, so that is where I will spend my money for now on.
