Overstock.com Complaint - Shipping - Gel Fuel Fireplace
BELLINGHAM -- On 12/10 I ordered an Avalon Black Satin Gel Fuel Fireplace. It was shipped on 12/12 and received on 12/18. I thought that was pretty slick. However, I opened the box and discovered that this item is actually shipped in 2 boxes. The mantel place in one and the firebox in the another. I received the mantel place. I went to the tracking site and discovered that box #2 had not been shipped yet. I used the chat on 12/18 and was told I would receive the rest by 12/24 and not to worry. Guaranteed. I checked with the tracking site on 12/19 and still no movement so I chatted again with a very confused young man. I called on 12/20 and was told that a second request for the missing parts would go out to the warehouse and the representative would report back to me no later than 12/24. I heard nothing. I started calling again on 12/26. Spoke to numerous people always having to explain what exactly was happening and my mounting suspicion that there were no longer any fireboxes to ship.
It is now 12/30 and there is still no indication that my firebox has left the warehouse. I was last told I had a delivery date of 1/1, ridiculous that is a holiday, or 1/2, highly doubtful since as of 12/30 it has yet to leave the warehouse. I emailed them that if there was no movement of the firebox by 1/4 I wanted a refund and they could pick up the mantle place. We shall see how this ends. Oh I did receive a $10.00 gift certificate to "O" for my patience and trouble along with an apology. Gee thanks!
It is obvious to me that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing at overstock.
I will say that not once was I met with anyone that didn't speak or understand English and that was refreshing.
I will updated this complaint once it has been resolved.
