Amazon.com Complaint - Amazon.com Christmas Shipping Nightmare
A couple of weeks before Christmas I place a large order with Amazon.com. All products were guaranteed to arrive before Christmas. Christmas Eve came and I had not received the largest part of my order. So I ended up having to make a trip to KMart at 7pm on Christmas Eve to complete my shopping. I called Amazon that night to cancel my order. I was assured that my order would be cancelled and my money would be refunded by December 28th. They instructed me that if I received the order after Christmas to simply refuse and return to sender which I did when the item showed up the day after Christmas.
Today I check my account and the order on Amazon.com is showing up as complete and delivered. When I spoke with customer service they were clueless to the fact that I had cancelled the order and refused shipment when it arrived late. Now they tell me I'll get my money within 1 - 2 weeks, but again, this varies depending on who I speak with. They outsource their customer service, and the discussions are difficult and the people are clueless as to each individual's personal account.
I'm not sure if I'll ever get my money, but I would advise everyone to stay away from Amazon.com, especially in regards to Christmas shopping and shipping. Your family will be disappointed when their presents aren't there Christmas morning.
