Target Informative - Is it just me..... - Return policy complaints

Return policy complaints
Review by AlleyS on 2007-12-31
Or is EVERYONE else sick of reading complaints written by "loyal customers" regarding the return policy? Yes, I made this into a post because I wanted everyone to see it! I'm sick of reading letters about people getting mad Target won't take back merchandise w/o a receipt.

What a SMART idea Target!

I'm personally sick of them as well. One would think if these folks were as LOYAL as they claim that they would also be aware of the return policy!

I hope in 2008 (in 35min) that people are aware of Target's return policy and there will be no complaints about Target's return policy.

AlleyS... may I have permission to countdown to the New Year on this post?

I would think that if anything it would alert people to the necessity of a 'proof of purchase'. We've gone too long with being able to just come in off the street with whatever and get a refund or exchange without question.
And it's not just your common criminals making policies more strict, it's your 'everyday' consumer taking advantage of lax policies as well.
Keep your receipts.
Find out return policies before you buy.
Stop acting like the retail world owes you something.
Because once you buy it? They don't have to do squat else.

MRM, they will never get it because they don't read.

Lidman, maybe they do get it, but think they should be an exception to the rules because they are "loyal" customers and claim to spend thousands of dollars there per year.

Voted very helpful! I, too, am tired of reading complaints about companies giving people a hard time about trying to make a return without a receipt. Don't people realize that if companies freely allowed this, that they would have problems with people grabbing items off of the shelf, & then bringing them to the service desk to 'return' them? I know for a fact that people attempt that little trick! I saw more than one person try it back in my retail days.

On DB's post stating Target's return policy, I remarked that I no longer will shop Target even though I've been a 'loyal' customer in the past and spend thousands of dollars with them each year. My reason? "Nowhere in the return policy does it say 'Ponie is special and can make up any rules and regulations required." After all, I'm a LOYAL customer--just who do they think they are?

You're not alone AlleyS, I'm right there with you.

Right on Alley, take a look at this forum post:

JayD, if the customers read, they would have to take personal accountability for screwing up and not knowing the policy. ;) Doubt that will happen anytime soon.

AlleyS, I voted VH because I am sick of the Target return compalints as well, and to neutralize PWP's NH vote. LOL

It seems like more and more people out there have this "me me me" attitude. They need to get over this whole entitlement attitude and realize that they're no more special than the next joe.

if you're sick of reading about it, why don't you quit?
