Guitar Hero III Legends of Rock- Wii Compliment - Great Game! - Guitar Hero for the Wii

Review by GothicSmurf on 2008-01-01
Being a musical family, my son prefers the drums. For Christmas, he got the Guitar Hero III for his Wii game console. At first, he wasn't excited about it, but last night we opened it up because I wanted to play it.

It did take me a few minutes to figure out how to put in the controller (blond moment!) we started to play.

This game is really easy for someone who's never picked up a guitar (my son). It has a few levels so the better he gets, he can select harder levels.

There is also a section for them to practice parts of songs, intro, verse, chorus, etc. The best part, is that once you play a gig, you get "paid" and then can buy new clothes, guitars and songs! I was excited as they have songs that I know and listen to.

Since this is the first guitar hero game for the Wii, I was expecting bugs, but I haven't seen any to be honest. (Save for mislabeling the Flying V guitar wrong- which is a minor thing and doesn't affect (effect?) performance).

Great job on this game and it is so much fun to play. Now it's time to try and wrestle the guitar out of my sons hands so I can play... or ground him, which ever works first!

I just got a Wii for Xmas. Sounds like I might have to pick this game up. Never too old for a Wii! ;-)

I’m glad you figured out how to put it together I saw your complaint yesterday.

I enjoy Guitar Hero III, and in my opinion, it is much better than the earlier versions of the game!

The only problem I have with the game is the difficulty of the guitar battles. While I easily defeated Tom Morello in the first guitar battle, I am having great difficulty defeating Slash in the second guitar battle!

Any tips?

We bought this game for my son for Christmas for his WII. He's a teenager, and after watching his friends, I had to take a turn. LOVE IT! Great fun for all ages. I'm just wondering when you'll be able to buy the guitar without the game. We are ready to do challenges in my house.

I was looking for GHIII for my wii for weeks, I finally found one on Best buy's website and ordered it a few days ago, now I can't wait for it to show up!

I love that you can "purchase" more songs. I talked my son into getting Lacuna Coil and he went after In Flames all on his own.

I like that you can also do a left hand flip on the guitar for those of us who play left handed.

Sorry, no tips yet as I haven't played more than about 30 minutes. Perhaps you can change the difficulty level?

I've unofficially heard that additional Wii Guitars will be avail in Feb of 2008. Trust me, I'll be the first in line to get one!

We have GH3 on the X360 and it is a great game. If your son likes drums, go out and buy Rock Band (if available on Wii). It comes available with a guitar, microphone and drum kit controllers. The guitar plays very similar to GH, but you have the versatility of drums and singing in the game as well.
