JR.com Complaint - Email Resellers
Resolution Update on 01/08/2008:
I'm a bit confused. The spam abruptly stopped. Either gmail is better than I think, or they didn't sell my address. I don't know-- maybe I caught a rep on a bad day and they started forwarding their junk mail through some... strange program that modified the headers... or something. Anyways, as the junk mail has stopped, I'll mark this as resolved.
I found these guys through Amazon and decided I wanted to buy something directly from them. I signed up for their newsletter on a spam free account, but they were sending emails once a day-- way too much. So I unsubscribed, and told them that this was the reason.
That very day, I started getting penis enlarging spam. I did nothing else on that account all day. It doesn't take a genius to realize that someone over there sold my address to a spammer.
I will never purchase from them again, but I am very worried about my credit card information now. Buy from these people at your own risk, but go through Amazon, DO NOT go to their website.
Update: I marked it resolved, since the emails stopped coming on the 3rd, but that was a red herring. On January 14, the spam mail started again. It's gmail, so I'm not particularly inconvenienced, but even so. It is my belief that someone over there either sold it or gave it to spammers. I would un-resolve this if I could.
