National Amusements/Showcase Cinemas Compliment - Excellent Service!
MASSACHUSETTS -- In November, a friend and I went to see a showing of "Beowulf" in the new Digital 3-D format. I purchased my ticket as well as a drink from the credit-card kiosk in the lobby. The total was $16.32. Towards the end of the process, the machine asked me to swipe my card a second time, which I thought was a little odd, but I figured it didn't take the first time so I swiped it again. One ticket came out of the dispenser with a total of $16.32, so I thought all was well.
Well, a few days later I checked my bank account balance on line and found that I had been charged twice for the movie. Luckily, I kept my receipt. I returned to the theater expecting a hassle, but instead got the most amazing service! The manager informed me they noticed the mistake at the end of the night I attended the film and were waiting for me to show up. I asked them to reverse the charge on my account, which they agreed to do, but to my amazement, they made me a counter offer of FOUR free movie passes! I was pretty blown away!
I paid 16 bucks for a movie and snack, and got four free movie passes, a $40 value, for another $16. Since I go to the movies several times a month, I thought this was an incredibly generous deal! I commend National Amusements for their excellent customer service!
