STL Consulting Complaint - Auto Frame Damage - Business Opportunity

Review by mck on 2008-01-03
ENCINITAS, CALIFORNIA -- We answered an ad to be a representative for STL Consulting to help people who unknowingly purchased a vehicle that had frame damage. It costs $25,000. [name removed] came to our town to explain the program and get the money.

The program did not work and we requested a refund. [name removed] assured us he would return our money.

That was November and we still do not have our money and [name removed] has disappeared.

Huh? The business you bought is a consulting firm that people can pay to inspect their car to see if it had frame damage? Why would I do that unless the car pulled or something, which by then it would be in a shop where a real mechanic would find it. This is so a fly-by-night biz opp. For that much money, get an attorney. There very well may be some disclosure issues that can be used in litigation if the company won't refund your money. BTW, buzz off your story to the FTC at www.ftc.gov and or your state's attorney. These kind of things grab their interest, especially if they have multiple complaints about the same entity.
