DirecTV Inc Complaint - Channel Lineup
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- One of the things I like best about cable or satellite TV is all of the sports action typically available. Tonight, I discovered that there will be times when I will not be able to watch the local NBA team (the Spurs) even when it has nothing to do with a blackout. Tonight's game was played in Denver & the local paper indicated that it would be shown on Fox Sports SW. When I tuned in to watch, I was surprised to find that they were showing a Dallas Stars hockey game instead and the Spurs game was being shown on the station immediately after Fox Sports SW(but I did not have access to this channel).
I called DirecTV and was told that if I wanted to watch that game, I'd have to upgrade my service to the next level which includes all of the movie channels. Based on the package I subscribe to, I thought I'd be able to see all of the Spurs games just as I was able to do with the cable service I had before switching to DirecTV; especially since I have more than just the basic service. Maybe I'm missing something but it just seemed odd to me that I was getting a hockey game from another TX city versus the local NBA team's game and that I'd have to upgrade to their biggest package in order to be assured of watching the Spurs whenever they play. This is just one more disappointment in an ever growing list since I started this service a few months ago. I keep on discovering things that would have caused me to avoid DirecTV if I had been aware of them prior to agreeing to the contract.
At this point, I am seriously considering just paying the fee to break my contract early and going elsewhere. DirecTV has been a huge disappointment & I wouldn't recommend them to anyone!!
