Kroger Complaint - No sale without Rewards card
WARREN, MICHIGAN -- I like Rewards Programs at stores, where you sign up for a free membership and they mail you coupons and Reward certificates. However, I don't like the programs, like Kroger's, where you can only get the sale prices if you have a card. Some stores (like CVS) will still give you the sale price by scanning in a courtesy card. However, one day my son had my car keys and my Reward Card was on they key ring. Kroger would not give me any of the sale prices without my card, and said they could no longer use a courtesy card. I have never received any rewards in the mail, so the card is only good to get the sale prices.
On this instance, I left the store without purchasing anything, and went to the small grocery store by my house (without a Rewards Program). I purchased the same items and saved over $40. I am now a frequent customer at this smaller store and haven't gone back to Kroger.
