Wal-Mart Complaint - Manager - Management
BRADENTON, FLORIDA -- I received a coupon from PUR, water filtration systems. I bought 3 of their faucet mounted systems and they all cracked and leaked. PUR was good enough to take my complaint seriously and send me the coupon . The coupon is good for 1 Free Any Faucet Mounted System. I chose the one I wanted at Walmart, an upgrade to my existing unit. When I swiped the coupon it alerted an assistance response at self-checkout. The clerk tried everything but the coupon would not be accepted. She took the PUR filter with her and went to the manager. She returned to tell me that the manager said the coupon is no good because the system I chose was not a faucet mount. It clearly states on the box "faucet mount". I even turned the box over where the picture instructions showed it being screwed on a faucet.
When I objected, the clerk pointed to the words "3 stage filter" (AAARRRGGG!!!!) and said "see, it's not faucet mounted". Then said the manager suggested that I go to the plumbing department for help. I was in no mood to deal with a moron manager and left the store. This is the manager of a major chain of stores! I would expect some level of intelligence about the products, even when the box is self-explanatory.
I was so disgusted, I told the clerk to cancel the item and just give me back the coupon then walked out. I intend to go back, get the PUR system I want and March it up to Customer Service to see if anyone there has the I.Q. to read the box and agree it's a faucet mounted system.
