Health Clubs Informative - Memberships

Review by GothicSmurf on 2008-01-10
Another article I found in regards to Health Clubs. It states that complaints have risen 90% in the last few years.

The two biggest problem areas are contract disputes and billing issues and it talks about NOT paying with a DEBIT CARD

Some pretty good advice in there so you can be informed when you sign up and how to properly cancel.

A few tips:

Check out the facilities
Ask around
Don’t give in to pressure
Read the entire contract
Know the membership details

EDIT: Something else I found interesting about the contract/ membership: They can be sold. If your contract is sold (assignment) you will have to dispute it the finance company, not the gym.

Thanks for the info. I belong to a gym (I haven't seen the inside of it for about 6 months) but my contract is up in June and I will be cancelling, in writing!

Thanks GS! I don't like "Health Clubs" because they are not healthy! But you are go you get the (VH) vote.
