Chase Manhattan Bank Complaint - HSA Account
FLORIDA -- This bank is awful. They have monthly fees for my HSA account that were supposed to be waived. After two years I decided to write a check to myself to reimburse my medical expenses. I called Chase and they said I had such and such a balance and that they would send me some checks. They after one month they sent a VISA card. I called back. They required me to sign a form requesting checks. They faxed it to me (a week later). I filled it out and faxed it back. They said it was illegible (it wasn't). I faxed another copy. I got the checks two weeks later and wrote a check to myself for the balance of my account, which again, the agent confirmed. The check bounced. Chase had subtracted about $65 for reasons they could not explain. Then they deducted another $20 for a bounced check charge. This is going on three months, just to get one check written. I called them again and got a very whiny agent.
I got a new balance quote with assurance that this balance will not mysteriously decrease. I wrote another check today for this new, lower, balance, trying to close my account. We'll see... These people are somewhere between incompetent and just plain awful.
