Comcast Corporation Informative - Cable Repair Service is Woeful
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- I have been a cable subscriber for a long time and am very disappointed with Comcast. My cable services were previously provided by AOL/Time-Warner until Comcast took over. This has resulted from less than stellar service provided by Time-Warner to woeful service provided by Comcast. I have repeatedly contacted Comcast about service problems involving my digital cable and my HD service. Often the service fails and then "magically returns" before their technician can arrive to diagnose the problem. On occasion their technician has called to see if the service has been restored and then "cancels" my service call because there is no problem at that time. Regrettably, I have been advised by staff at Comcast Customer Service to insist on the service technician coming out anyway. However, this appears to be of little value. A series of technicians have recently been to my residence - three times over the past two days - and have failed to correct my problem. Once again, I have scheduled another visit by a technician, and I fear it is unlikely my problem will be addressed.
It would seem that Comcast could provide acceptable service by having qualified technicians who have replacement cable service boxes with them when making a service call AND therefore reduce the need to make repeat visits that regrettably fail to appropriately resolve a customer's problem.
I am considering other alternatives to Comcast and would encourage anyone considering Comcast to think twice. My experience to date with Comcast has made me very weary of their ability and desire to resolve service problems.
