Home Depot Complaint - Caring about employees
MICHIGAN -- I have worked for Home Depot for 10 plus years, recently Frank Blake has decided that stores that make less than 35 million a tear will be losing their following teams, night crew who pack out the merchandise, the receiving team who unload our freight, out pack out teams who put the freight away early in the morning, and our IMA's who inventory in the freight, follow up with the vendors to make sure orders are in and if the price out the freight and resolve any other issues. On these teams some of the associates have been with the company 20 plus years. , They are now being told that their jobs are going that the "new" inventory specialist, (bean counters) will be doing this job there are only 4 positions open, all the hard working people must now re-hire for these jobs. The hitch, these jobs are part time only and for no more that 10 dollars an hour.
So now these hard working people are being told that the stores can not reabsorb them into any departments and if they do not accept part time they are out of a job! I remember when I hired in the company helped and respected the employee, remembering they we made the company, we were respected, you were celebrated for your long term commitment to your company. I miss those days, now I am in constant fear of losing my job, if someone with 20 plus years means nothing to the company then my little 10 plus means squat, I am ashamed these days of where I work. We used to has plenty of employees to work our department and service the customer, now we are lucky if we have an opener, a mid, and a closer.
First Bob Nardelli ran my once proud Home Depot into the ground and now it seems Frank Blake is taking us deeper... Hey and if Frank leaves I'm sure he will not be hurting for money like the rest of us....Arther and Bernie we need you back!!!!
