Amazon.com Informative - Amazon hosting scammers. Buyers beware!
I purchased a a music CD from a third party seller ( booksandmusicusa) hosted, aided and abetted by the great Amazon blanket site.
The order ( and my $84.50 ) departed on December 13 2007. I instantly received a message that stated "orders typically shipped within 1-2 business days" of which I have an electronic datestamped copy in my posession.
On Deceber 28 I contacted Amazon and ( by their advice ) the seller, who apologized for the delayed delivery, offered a 10% rebate as a compensation and stated ( I have an electronic copy) that I will receive it shortly.
Since I have contacted the seller numerous times and each time they offered a new discount ( which I refused since I did not have the CD I paid for) and avoided to indicate a delivery date. January 17 2008 I contacted the Amazon customer service and they directed me to a refund department.
I contacted them too on January 18, 2008
They replied almost instantly that they have closed the complaint file since I have obviously received $8.45 refunded by the seller.
Forgot to say that all complaints have to be submitted within 30 days of the date of the purchase too, so if they don't decline my request for a $8.00 "refund" they still have a loophole with the "expired complaint ".
I wonder if they split the loot?
$80.00 is not much but I am sure it adds up to something if they keep scamming people.
I am for sure never going to purchase any thing form Amazon.com and I am posting as many warnings as I can.
