DirecTV Inc Informative - Failed to provide promo equipment
BELEN, NEW MEXICO -- We swithced from Dish Network to Direct Tv 6 months ago after constant outages from Dish. We ordered the 140 channel lineup which was supposed to include a free DVR system for recording programs.
The tech called and said he was lost in another town. He arrived a week later to install the necessary cables, etc. He then stated he didn't have a DVR with him and showed no record of us having oredered one. He said to call the company and ask about it, and if they okayed it, he would come back at no charge and install it.
We called the company and a gruff-sounding woman who sounded as if we woke her from a nap rudely told us we didn't order a DVR and would have to pay $99.00 for one. I asked to speak to her supervisor and sha said that she was the supervisor. I then called the national phone number and kept asking to speak to the highest person in authority. They rudely said the same thing - we never ordered a DVR with our service and would have too purchase one. When our one year contract ends in June, we will switch to cable or just do without TV!
