Frigidaire Complaint - Repeated problems with eoc/clock
WENONAH, NEW JERSEY -- I have had the eoc/clock replaced three times on my range because of various problems. When this part malfunctions anything can happen.
At first it would beep for no reason or display error codes. At times it would get to hot. The oven would turn off in the middle of baking. The lock mechanism would run for no reason locking the oven. The worst was when it started to turn itself on.
I bought the range in 2001. I had it repaired in 2002, 2003, and 2004. For the repair in 2004 they used a different eoc/clock. I was told I wouldn't have this problem again.
Now its three and a half years later and its happened again. Last week my dinner burned in only ten minutes. Then it started making weird clicking noises. A couple of days later it turned itself off. The day after that I was pre-heating it when the locking mechanism began to run. I unplugged it and plugged it back in after a couple of minutes. It started running again. I tried to open the oven and to my surprise it opened. But now I can't shut the door because the lock is stuck out and it won't reset itself.
My oven is useless and I refuse to ever trust this oven again.
Frigidair/ Electrolux was very kind in the past, replacing the part free of charge but this time I haven't gotten a response. It doesn't matter because I am shopping for a new range and it won't be a Frigidair.
I have read other cases on the internet of ovens with similar problems. Anyone experiencing any unusual with their oven should keep it unplugged when not in use. It is an accident waiting to happen.
