Mercedes Benz Complaint - The Car And The Company Really Sucks
PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY -- Purchased a new leftover 2003 Benz C240 wagon in June 2004. Fully intending to keep this car for a number of years I also purchased the M.B. 7 year/100K mile extended warranty within the year allowed. Starting in the 2nd year of ownership I began having numerous problems with this car-some minor and a several major including severe transmission issues. I have a total of 37 repair orders within a period of 37 months and 39K miles. I have decided to get rid of this lemon as the time taken to bring it in for repairs is beginning to affect my job. I can't even recoup any of the $2,400.00 I spent on the extended warranty because of a clause in the contract that only allows a 60 day window for cancellation-obviously this was not an issue at the time as I fully expected to keep the car. Plus the car is still within the original 4 yr/50K mile period and no services have been renderer under the extended warranty at all.
The dealer (Mercedes of Princeton, NJ) was absolutely no help-basically told me to screw off. In addition, their service dept. couldn't diagnose a dirty floormat-I ended up taking the car to another MB dealer for warranty service. NEVER buy one of these overpriced pieces of CRAP. A friend has a 2006 C280 sedan and she's now going thru the lemon law process- she's had the car in for warranty service over 30 times in 2 years. Basically they're German Yugos. Be forewarned.
