Cingular Wireless Complaint - Cingular Unfair Billing Practices
COMMERCE, MICHIGAN -- While a Cingular customer I experienced frustration with Cingular's hostile and aggressive collection practices. My problem started when I didn't receive a bill for two months. I received a letter from Cingular appoligizing for the delay and I promptly paid the bill. In the meantime, my service was disconnected. My service was return (because I paid the bill - which was sent to me late due to Cingular's fault). My next bill from Cingular detailed a $36.00 reconnection charge and two $5.00 charges for reprinting a bill!!! What is wrong with Cingular!!! I refused to pay the $46.00 in charges and wrote Cingular a letter - in which I never received a response - except for another disconnection and then another $36.00 reconnection charge on my next bill!!!
Cingular's position is that I signed a contract and agreed to these terms. I agreed to pay for my monthy service - which I did. Cingular had billing problems and then expected their customers to pay for their lack of doing their part and keeping their billing records up to date and current.
Shame on Cingular. What ever happened to the Customer comes first. Cingular has treated me unfairly and expected me to pay for fees which were incurred due to Cingular's mismanagement of my customer records. Cingular also expected me to pay for the service time - in which my service was disconnected!!! How can you charge someone for something they aren't getting???
I will never again engage in a contract with Cingular and I also warn others to think twice before doing the same.
