Best Buy Complaint - Installation Nightmare!
LONG ISLAND CITY, NEW YORK -- We bought 4 GE Profile kitchen appliances (refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher) for a total of $7,000 from Best Buy back in December 2007. They were finally delivered on January 7, 2008 and we were informed by the delivery person that now we were to call the installation department and set up a appointment. It's been nearly 3 weeks and the installers have yet to come out to us with the proper insurance paperwork to install the appliances. Furthermore, I've been using my living room as a storage space for these appliances, which is creating both a health and fire hazard in my one bedroom condo where my husband, toddler, and I reside. I am thoroughly frustrated with Best Buy's indifference and empty promises. They never return calls and no matter which supervisor you talk to it's the same run around. It's beyond my comprehension on why it is so difficult for installers to have their insurance information handy in order to proceed with their work. (When I get in my car to drive I make sure to carry my insurance card with me. Imagine I tell the police officer who pulls me over to wait 30 days to get faxed my insurance information!) In addition, when we went to Best Buy to buy the appliances the salesperson never informed us that there will be a wait time between delivery and installation.
We assumed that both went hand in hand. Since this nightmare began I have called many competitors, i.e. Home Depot and PC Richards who have assured me that the day they deliver kitchen appliances they also install.
BUYERS BEWARE! Best Buy's customer service stops as soon as they swipe your credit card!
