Toys R Us Complaint - Return Policy - TV/DVD
WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK -- My daughter received a TV and DVD player from her aunt for Christmas. We were remodeling her room, and we didn't actually take them out of the boxes until 01/26. When we set them up, we found that the DVD player is defective. We got the receipt, wrapped everything up and headed to the store. They refused to give us a refund because the boxes were opened. Does that make any sense? How would we know the DVD didn't work until we opened the box? I spoke to customer service and they were not helpful, forget about the staff at the actual store, they were outright rude.
I also wrote a letter but haven't gotten a reply yet. We don't want store credit because her aunt got her a replacement TV/DVD already somewhere else (of course the store didn't have any in stock) and she doesn't have kids and does not have any use for 185.00 in Toys r us credit. Any ideas?
