Pep Boys Complaint - Sabateurs
90025, CALIFORNIA -- I went to Pep Boys about 3 months ago to receive an oil change. They gave me an approximately 1.5 hour waiting time. It took over 3 hours. To compensate, they gave me a "free oil change" service for the next time I came in, which was kind. They had a chance to redeem themselves and now I will go out of my way to discourage anyone from going to Pep Boys.
I went in again to the same Pep Boys (on Pico Blvd. in West L.A.) to use my free oil change, and the man at the register looked at me like I was stupid and as if they would never give out free oil changes so how dare I ask. It took him forever to register me in, he was grumpy with me the whole time, and he grossly overestimated the waiting time probably because he thought I was a crabby customer that had demanded the free oil change (when in fact I would have been satisfied never to have returned there). After getting my free oil change, my car would lunge forward suddenly while in motion or when getting out of a stop. It also had awkward gear transitions. 3 days later, the very moment I was on the phone with my car dealership to get my car checked out, my car died. The oil light came on as did the battery light. After talking with the technician at the dealership, he said that they had overfilled my oil tank, to the point where it was suffocating the pipes that need to breathe (okay I'm not a mechanic so forgive me if I'm not retelling this correctly).
Furthermore, the transmission fluid was almost nearly drained. I basically really don't like Pep Boys right now. And by the way, my car is a 2005 so it's not like it would be having these types of problems anyway.
