San Antonio Wedding Guide Complaint - Beware advertising with them!

Review by SA Wed on 2008-01-29
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- These guys are pretty vicious. We paid to advertise with the San Antonio Wedding Guide, but then several months before the guide came out, we had to cancel due to the business faltering. Though they had plenty of time to place another vendor's ad, or just use one of their many stock adds promoting themselves, they are suing us for the full 3 year agreement !

Don't get me wrong, I understand technically there is a contract etc, it's just that we won't be in the guide, so they will use the space to sell others ! Why should we pay the full amount ?

We have already paid hundreds of dollars and we received a month or two of web ad space and some leads from their web site. Now we are off their web and they can put other ads in all the future issues of their guide and they still want to take us to court over $6500 !

They come off country friendly, nice handshake etc., but make no mistake they are cut throat !

I am guessing that your contract has some sort of time frame to cancel. If you are outside that window then you have defaulted on the contract. They have every right to seek full payment on a contract you defaulted on.

Several months before the guide is published isn't really a long amount of time to find a replacement advertiser. And replacing your ad with a stock ad promoting themselves isn't generating money for that particular publication costs.

I understand the default on contract. My point is in the next 3 years they will have other ads filling the pages. They don't need to collect $6500 more.

When you signed the contract, you thought their terms were reasonable or you didn't think you were going to need to cancel. Now that you have to cancel the contract, it's suddenly unfair? Good luck with this problem.
