Rt. 209 Diner Complaint - Unfair treatment of employee's

Review by birchmountain41 on 2003-09-19
NAPANOCH, NEW YORK -- I have worked at the Rt. 209 diner in Ellenville Ny for the past 8 years off and on. 5 years ago the diner was sold to Onkar Datt and Avinash Chander, they are very unfair to their employee's, they are VERY cheap and take old meat to the limit of expiration. I have witnessed them to take roast beef that has started to turn green and wash it then slice it up for their customers. Also the roof leaks at the first booth and in the back dining area, I have had to serve customers by walking around a bucket on the floor by the tables as it is placed there every time it rains. The one owner Avinash Chander aka as Rick sits at the counter at night shift drinking out of a styrofoam coffee cup with vodka in it and harrasess the waitresses, the diner doe's not have a liquor liscence therefor I feel the owner has no right to sit there and drink harrassing the help.
In the morning shift the eggs sit out at room temperature til at least 2pm. The flys are terrible that part of the waitress duties include walking around with a fly swater killing them. The sugar for the coffee to go that the waitresses make up in not covered and has flys walking on the sugar in the bowl.
