National Home Protection Complaint - Contractors and Homeowners Beware
Our company performed a warranty service for National Home Protection. Our service was timely, inline with their guidelines, and the customer was happy. We performed the service in October. We do not have a contract with National Home Protection (and we never will) but we performed the service b/c no one else in the area would and the customer needed work done. As of February, 4 months later, we have yet to see a dime of the money owed to us by National Home Protection. Twice now we've gotten "the check is in the mail" statements. However, it has never arrived. They won't take our phone calls. They did send us a letter saying we violated some agreement we never had with them, and that we didn't perform service within 48 hours. No... it was more like 24 hours. The reason they had no one else in the area to perform the service is obvious now.
Home Warranties help sell houses. But when the contractors aren't getting paid, the warranties become expensive window dressing when customers can't get serviced.
