Premier Financial & Credit Complaint - Incorrect Info And Wrong Practices!
CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE -- I called this "debt collector" to take care of a debt they say I owed. I asked questions about the debt and told them I would check my records and call them right back. (I needed to make sure I did not already issue a payment) When I called back they were very rude and wanted to know why I was calling again when they noted "my account" that I would pay on the 22nd. I didn't say that! Why would I say the 22nd? Did they just falsify a document in regards to an account they say I owe? Is that account in my name? I did not authorize that statement nor did I agree to that date! As a matter of fact I wanted to pay it right then if the debt was valid. The woman I spoke with, at Premier Financial & Credit in Chattanooga TN, told me it was against the fair debt collection practices act to accept any payment over the phone unless I use an American express credit card. That can't be right! I read and read and searched and searched but I can't find anything that says I must use American Express to pay debts over the phone. Would that be some kind of discrimination to other companies like Visa and Mastercard? Or is it possible they don't want me to pay so they can report to the credit bureaus and make a name for themselves? I honestly believe that company needs to properly train their employees.
Now I am suffering because this matter just got prolonged and reflects badly on my credit report. I am so upset with that company and can't find anyone else to deal with to clear the matter up. I am not sure what to do. What a headache over such a small debt! (Its only about $50) The longer they wait to take my payment which is the full amount won't that cost me thousands later because they are destroying my credit?
