SADDLE BROOK, NEW JERSEY -- I have to say that my puppy has had nothing but health issues since we bought him home. I do not know where they get these puppies,I mean I did get all the papers from them. My puppy almost died his pnemonia was so bad- He was in the hospital for one week-With medication and hospital stay my bills were over $4000-Just last week my puppy had to get surgery on his ear due to his numerous ear infections. He is now deaf in the one ear. He also has bad allergies that we were told are heriditary. Not only do we have to give him medicine, but we now give allergy shots. This was another $3000. My puppy will be one next month-I can only hope that he has no more health issues. But I have to say that Dana and Joe were never mean to me about anything. They gave me the money that was owed to me-and they both apologized that me and my family had to go through such a thing. I love my puppy,he is like one of my kids.
And even though it has been a rough year,I am glad I walked into that store-If I had not-who knows what may have happened to my puppy-With us,he is loved and taken care of-Snd that is what it is all about..

I got him from Pet Paradise like the rest of these poor people..

Aww he's a puppy mill puppy. I know that you are upset, and I am by no means trying to make this any harder on you than it is, but you should have gone to a shelter, rescue, or reputable breeder. These people breed these poor dogs until they can't breed anymore. Most are inbred and suffer from illness and physical defects. I am so sorry that you have to go through this. I think all puppy mill's should be closed down and the owners charged with animal cruelty. I am so sorry for you and your family.

I bought my Boxer from a pet shop and like you became very sick, spent lots of money, did alot of whining but learned DONT ever buy a pet from a pet shop, they're way over priced and come from puppy mills, if you saw the conditions of some of those places where they breed, you would never buy a puppy again from a pet shop. Needless to say all my other pets have come from shelters or the Humane Society and don't forget to have your puppy neutered or spayed there's enough strays out there.

I am so sorry this happened to you. A lot of research should be done prior to purchasing a puppy. There are a lot of people who don't understand breeding and are in for the the money, not the animals. Good luck to you!

That's another good reason to get a puppy or a full grown dog from an animal shelter and/or rescue.

We adopted our pup (see my user profile for pics!) from a shelter. He is just great. We paid like $50 and he came with all his shots and neutered already.
Principissa is right. Many of these "pure breed" dogs have acquired multiple health problems passed on from inter-breeding too much.
Our vet said he loves to see folks bring in mixes or mutts... since they are usually the most healthy dogs.

Funny thing is that I had no intention of buying a dog that day..I do not even live where Pet Paradise is located.We were putting up a new store in the strip mall that pet store is in.I was only looking around bc where I live pet stores have dogs in those horrible glass windows..This store had them in crates where you can pet them..Little did I know that when I picked him up out of that crate that I would fall in love with him.. I could not leave him there.. I would probably still be having nightmares about who bought him or if he was left in that store...who knows what may have happened...
