DirecTV Inc Complaint - DirecTv Movers Connection "Free" - No... "FRAUD"!
ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA -- I wanted to let you know of the horrible customer service hassle we have been going thru with DirecTv. First of all this started because I got a call from Dish TV telling me they would give me free installation of a HD DVR and our monthly payment would be less money. On top of that we are moving in a month and they would move us for free. So, to avoid the hassle of changing companies we decided to give DirecTv a chance after they quoted us a $300 installation fee of the HD DVR. We told them of the offer Dish was going to give us and they put us on hold for a while and came back saying that they would knock down the price to $120. Ok great, we accepted and were told we would be contacted within 48 hours to let us know when they could come install.
We waited and called them back after 3 days and they claimed our “order” was stuck in their system and couldn’t do anything about it and told us someone would contact us the next day to tell us when we could expect installation. Next day came and still no call. At this point we are thinking about our moving date and wonder if we should just cancel the order and do it at our new place. We have seen the commercials saying that they move you for free and I even looked at the website saying the exact same thing. Actually on the website it said “free*” I looked at what the “*” said and it said it would require a new 2 year renewal. That was fine. So when I called customer service back again I told them about moving and they said the charge would be $50, the customer service person said it was “technically free” but $50 is NOT technically free, it is technically & actually $50. I acquired why they state it is free but tell me it is $50. They say it is because of “our service” but when I asked what does “our service” mean, they can’t explain. It sounds like a scam to me, because no where does it say with any asterisks that it can very from contract or “service”. This is false advertising. We've actually called back a couple of times and NOT a SINGLE person can explain why we were magically chosen to pay $50. Not even the head of customer service can explain why, just that they want our money and that is final.
Well back to the customer service nightmare, my husband got very frustrated, talked to a “supervisor” and still got the same run around, and the same line, “we will call you tomorrow with a date of installation.” Yep, it’s today actually 2 weeks later and still no one has called us. I have made claim with the Better Business Bureau where they have finally made an installation date but still will not tell us why we are being charged $50 for a FREE F-ing Service! If I would have know this nightmare would be happening after 4 years with them I would have NEVER EVER EVER signed up with DirecTV. I hate this company with a passion and I feel like a trapped rat in their scheme for scamming you out of money. If there is a class action suit out there, let me in, I think they are thieves! And If I can stop one person out there by my rant and rave from buying DirecTv. Then I have succeeded! They should not be able to do this crap.
