Jay Lee Nissan Complaint - Repair Danger! - Coupon Danger

Review by MadasHell2 on 2008-02-19
GLADSTONE, OREGON -- Jay Lee Nissan in Gladstone, Oregon sent out a coupon for $99.95 rotation, balance of tires - except that they let almost ALL the air out of the tires.

When I got the truck back, it was pulling HARD to the left to I took it to Discount Tire (who I highly recommend!) they discovered the air pressure in ALL FOUR TIRES was 25 to 30 psi LOWER than it was supposed to be.... if I had taken the truck on the freeway, I could have been killed.

DON'T USE JAY LEE NISSAN - DON'T TRUST JAY LEE NISSAN - YOUR LIFE COULD BE IN DANGER!

Why is it necessary for the dealership to let the air out of the tires?

Ya know I don't know jack about cars but this complaint sounds fishy. I smell a rat.

How did you not notice that all of your tires were low on air? That is something I check almost daily while I am walking to my car.

I gotta go with MRM on this one, I just cannot understand why anyone would let the air out

I suspect the guy thought he was topping off the tire pressure and just screwed up. I notice it was a truck, my truck tires hold more PSI than a car tire. He probably had a brain fart and set the tires to 32psi instead of what truck tires call for. You would think after letting air out of the second tire he would have guessed something was not right. This one was sure something new around here.

I doubt this was intentional. I've run into the same problem with my truck - the door jamb sticker calls for Load Range "D" tires at 45PSI - but since I do a lot of towing, I upgraded to Load Range "E" tires which I run at 70PSI. I have caught the Ford dealer's QuickLane oil change guys letting air out of my tires to get them "down" to the right level. I have to remember to write "70 PSI" on the work order every time I leave the truck for an oil change. I suspect there is something like this going on with the original poster.
