Berge VW Complaint - Took my VW Jetta in 6 times, 7th time they refused me

Review by TroyP on 2008-02-19
GILBERT, ARIZONA -- So let me start off with this I took my car in to get it looked at becasue my check engine light was on. They took it in and adjusted the cam shaft and it seemed fine til the day I picked it up drove 2 miles and it came back on. So I took it back, got it back the next day drove 5 feet and they light went back off. This went on for a month where I had my car for 5 days out of 37. I had to take my car in 6 times becaseu the light kept going on. All while this is happening my warranty was running out, to the point that 3 days after I got my car back for the 6th time that it ran out. Now a month later my light is going off again, but they won't allow me to take it back there.

So next best thing I will report this company for how lowsy they are at fixing things and their customer service is the absolutle worst. I bought my Ford from them as well and would return it in a heartbeat if I could.

I will never do any business with them ever again and telling everyone to do the same. Champman VW will get all my support from here on out.

on a vejicle it would not be un-common for fantom lights to turn on and or off. if the dealership said nothing was wrong, then i would say okay.

take your car to autozone they will run the code and tell you where the problem is coming from. Most of the time it is an exhaust system issue.

My check engine light was on, solid, for two years. The garage I took it to said thay "did something to the car's computer" to fake it into believing the problem was fixed knowing full well the light would come on again in a couple of days. My problem had something to do with the PCV valve (?) which can be costly (upwards of $400) to replace. I would say that if the mechanics told you it was ok, live with it. Put electrical tape over it. I trusted my mechanic and I got over 243,000 miles out of that vehicle (Chrysler Minivan).

I drive a brand new car and would absolutely NOT deal with the check engine light being on just because the mechanic said it was okay!!! You purchase new cars for the warranty and expect things to be perfect. I have worked in auto service for almost a decade and agree that the service you recieved is unacceptable. I would look into lemon law if I were you.

You must have a very forgiving soul, I can't think of one reason to return to this dealership. There are so many things wrong with this picture I can't believe it. Good Luck

It's not that I'm forgiving I just want them to fix it, so far they have ate the cost on most of it mainly because they can't seem to fix it the first time. Thanks for the suggestion to take it somewhere else I might just do that to see what they say, if it's something they already replaced I'll make them fix it again. They basically refused my business now so if may end up in court. YAY!
