Comcast Corporation Compliment - Service Call - Internet Service
CONNECTICUT -- On 2/21/08 was unable to get onto the internet. I unplugged the modem waited and tried again before calling Comcast. I call them, I am on hold for a short period of time and then I talk to someone. She was very nice and very helpful. I told her the problem, she tried to reset the modem on her end twice, but was unable to and she told me she had never seen this kind of modem before. So she sets me up with a service call for today 2/23/08 between 9 am and 11am. She told me that they would usually try to call about 30 minutes before they arrive. My phone rings at 8:27 am. "Hi this is Comcast, I hear you're having problems with your internet?" I say "Yes I am" He says "I can come over right now if that's okay with you". I say "sure!" He gets here in about 5 minutes. He looks at my modem says "what the heck is this thing?" I said "I don't know, that's what they sent me". So he fiddles around for about 3 minutes, and I'm back online. I asked him what the problem was and he said that he just removed the splitter to give it more power. That was all. I just wanted to say thank you to Comcast for the great customer service and quick response. Just wanted to update this. On Saturday around 12:30 pm, I lost my internet again. I called customer service and the gentleman that I spoke to was very nice and helpful. I told him the problem, we went through him trying to reset the modem etc. That was not working. He set me up with another service call for Sunday between 3 and 5. Also, not only did he offer a credit, it was for the whole month of service! I was very surprised. I was going to call and ask for a credit just for the days that I didn't have service. The technician came to my house Sunday around 4:00 pm, changed the modem, and all is well again. He was very nice, very friendly and quick. Hopefully this will be the end of the problem.
