Wal-Mart Informative - Not honoring receipt price
STRATFORD, CONNECTICUT -- For those who may not be aware of this, I wanted to let you know about Walmart's exchange policy. I bought a sleeping bag just before Christmas. My daughter has used it a couple of times and we noticed a hole. Not a big one, but it could turn into a big one, and it's not a material that is easy to sew without potentially causing more damage. We had our receipt, the date is well within the 90 day return limit. We wanted to do an even exchange at the store we bought the bag, but they did not have any of the exact bag on their shelves. So, we drove to the next closest Walmart and wanted to do an even exchange there. The price at this Walmart for the exact same bag (same UPC code) was a little over $5 higher than we originally paid for the sleeping bag. They would not honor the price on my receipt and made us pay the additional money. We even spoke to the store manager, but he said we were out of luck.
This was not a seasonal item and it was not on sale when it was originally bought. I just wanted everyone to be aware that one Walmart is not the same as the next. Having a valid receipt will not be good enough to make an "even" exchange.
