Lowe's Informative - Return Too Easy
MIDWEST CITY, OKLAHOMA -- This weekend the girl friend bought a new hand held shower at Lowes. (why do girls always insist on hand held multi-spray shower heads?) I installed it although I forgot to use what you techies call a "washer" so it leaked which I thought meant tighten it up some more with my pliers which ended up marring the chrome like fittings... Okay, this is not about my poor handyman abilities. Long story short the shower head couldn't compete with her old one so I swapped them out the old one for the new one.
So now she wants to take the new one back to Lowes for a refund. I'm like honey this thing is a mess.. the packaging is all messed up, the device is marred and there's no way this could be put out for re-sale. Why should Lowes eat it because you can't part with old mclovin hanging in the shower.
Would you believe it... She took the product back to Lowes with a receipt and a declaration -- "It didn't do it for me I want my money back" and they gave her money back -- all of it.
So I start to wonder what's going to become of this return. It wasn't defective and can't be sold as new. Return policies don't make sense to me at all. I don't understand Target's ultra conservative policy but I'm equally dismayed by Lowes ultra-liberal policy. What's going on these days? I don't know, do you?
