Honda Complaint - New Car with blown transmission
TURNERSVILLE HONDA, NEW JERSEY -- My Honda Civic Ex is about 18 months old...I bought it brand new. I went to pull out of my drive way and heard a thump....thought I ran over something so got out of the car and saw all this liquid coming from under the car. Had the car towed to Honda dealership and received a call that the transmission was blown out. I have had the car for 18 months and have about 40,000 highway miles on it so its out of warenty. They told me there is nothing they can do for me and have to come up with 1,500....and even if I had an extended warenty it wouldnt cover the service. So I called honda's corp office and filed a complaint....not only did they tell me that it was strange for that to happen so early in millage they were going to call me back and let me know what they could do. Not only did I never receive a phone call from anyone, I had to hear from the mechanic that honda wasnt going to cover it and if I would have had my car serviced by them ever 3 months that then only then they could possibly do something. I explained I had just taken the car to them not only last month but also in may....and where does it say in writing you have to take your car for an oil change at honda every month.....and if they looked in the manual it says transmission checkups arent until 100,000. I am VERY disapointed with honda....I have a new car with a blown transmission...and no one could give an explaination why it happened. I will never by a honda again...horrible customer service.
