Corner Bakery Cafe Compliment - Yum :) - Delicious & Consistant

Review by sunshine619 on 2008-02-25
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA -- They recently put in a Corner Bakery Cafe near my work and after hearing good things I tried it and was very pleased. They do sandwiches, salads, soups, paninis, pastas and the like. I've since eaten there 3 times, with other people, and they have always been impressed as well. Each time the food has been excellent, the line is usually a little long but goes by quickly, the staff is always very friendly, the prices are reasonable for non fast food, and the menu has tons of variety. My order has been perfect each time, even when I have a special request (such as no crutons in my tomato basil soup).

This is a chain restaurant but they really seem like a privately owned deli... All over very very good!

My wife loves Corner Bakery. We have one about 20 minutes away... usually treat ourselves to a lunch or dinner there once a month or so. Very good food!

We have one just down the street. They have always done a great job and have very good service.

Sunshine, have you hit the new Tommy's yet? Let us know how it is, if it's as good as the L.A. area ones. Could be a food run when in S.D.

Not yet Superbowl, I will soon though, as a m3c public service!

Superbowl - - are you talking about Tommy's burgers? If so, the franchises aren't bad but there is nothing like the original in LA. Eating while leaning over the counters so the chili doesn't run down your arms - - getting sodas out of the big metal boxes filled with ice . . . I went to law school too many years ago and Tommy's and Pink's used to be standard fare for dinner. Oh great - - now I'm hungry!

The same Suusan. That's why I would like to know about the new one in S.D. The one in Burbank is very good but you can't beat the Original Tommy's in L.A. or Pink's that's for sure. Wish we had one around here, Fountain Valley and Westminster are the closest still as far as I know.
