Comcast Corporation Complaint - The CSR yelled at me
AMHERST, MASSACHUSETTS -- My apartmentmate and I wanted to get cable tv and internet from Comcast. We called on tuesday 9/02 and made an appointment for 2pm-4pm on monday 9/08 for someone to come and hook up internet and set one tv up for cable with a cable box. The tech called me on thursday 9/02, and told me that he was in the area so he would be by from 1pm to 3pm. I thought "great I'm getting set up early", but he didn't show up until 5:30 and did not have a cable box so we were not able to get all the channels that we ordered. He also OFFERED to set up the tv's we had in our bedrooms to get cable (we just had them to watch movies). He never said that it would cost extra and had we known that it was extra we would not have had them set up for cable. He printed out a bill and left it on one of the tv's (without letting me know about the bill)and left. I called comcast and asked the CSR when we would be getting the cable box. He said that someone would bring it to us on monday, the date of the orginal appointment. No one showed up to my apartment on monday, I know because I wasted half of my day waiting there. On tuesday I found the bill and called comcast to let them know that they did not show up for the appoitment that they had made and to inquire about the bill. The CSR I spoke to was very short with me to begin with. I told him about the missed appointment, he told me that there was no appointment scheduled for yesterday, but there was one scheduled for wednesday 9/10. I told him that I spoke to two different CSR's and they both told me that there was an apointment. He told me that I was wrong and that the people I talked to were wrong. Then I asked about the bill, and told him that because I was not informed about the charge and it was offered without any mention of the charge, I should not have to pay it. He asked me how many tv's I had in my apt. I told him 3 and then he proceded to tell me that that's why I was charged. I explained to him again that if I knew it was going to be extra I would not have had the tv's set up. He actually yelled at me that I had 3 tv's, that's why I was charged and why didn't I understand that. I sarcastically asked him if I could charge comcast for the time I wasted waiting for a tech to come on monday, and he yelled again about me not really having an appointment. Then I hung up. I called back a couple of minutes later and talked to a very polite woman who said that she would credit my account the $30 and that I could go to a service center and pick up a cable box. On thusday 9/11, I went to the service center to get a box and to check my account inperson. The CSR there pulled up my account and told me that it was not credited, but that he would do it now. So the nice woman didn't actually credit anything! I just got the bill today and there was no credit on it! I just deducted the $30 from my bill and I will continue to refuse to pay it.
