Whirlpool - Misleading And Deceptive Warranty
Refrigerator Warranty - Complaint
BOULDER, COLORADO -- My 5-year old side-by-side refrigerator failed right at the end of the warranty period. It needed a new "start device" for the compressor. The warranty covered the compressor, but NOT the starter relay.
The warranty covered the "sealed refrigeration system" which Whirlpool said did not cover the starter! How weird is that? You can't run the compressor without the starter, yet the "system" did NOT include the starter.
This is deceptive consumer advertising and should be stopped. Anyone else have suggestions about how to get a major company to write their warranties in plain language that can be interpreted without a lawyer or a mechanic?
Don't buy Whirlpool products if they keep offering these limited warranties.
