Mill Creek Entertainment Compliment - Great Response To A Problem
CASA GRANDE, ARIZONA -- I purchased a DVD package at Big Lots, that is 'The Best of TV Detectives.' The set is 12 DVDs containing 150 episodes of old time TV detective shows. It was great seeing Dragnet, Martin Kane, Mr. and Mrs. North, Sheriff of Cochise, Mannix and so on. The shows have been remastered from old tapes and kinescopes, and a lot of the problems of old TV have been eliminated. The shows are great, and I only had two problems.
The first was not really a problem, I had 13 DVDs. There was a duplicate of Disc 4. No problem, but I don't really need duplicates. The problem was Disc 5. They are two-sided discs, and side B of Disc 5 was terrible, It ran in fits and starts at the start of Mannix, and dropped out several times during replay. At the end of the episode, it shut down the DVD player, not letting me see the second Mannix, the two Richard Diamonds and the other two episodes.
I sent an email to the company after tracking down their website, and within three days, I got an email from the VP in Charge of Sales, apologizing for the problem. He stated they are sending me a replacement Disc 5 plus another set of DVDs for the inconvenience, and when the discs arrive I don't have to return the bad one and the extra, I should just dispose of them. It surprised me and I am very pleased. I did not expect a whole other set, and the response of the company is impressive.
